Hold me accountable
for my failure
to succeed in spite
of your imposition
of an antiquated model,
the demise of which
you blame on me.
When nonsensical busing
and half-ass segregation
led to subjects that were
incongruous with reality,
you label me incorrigible
for my cognitive dissonance,
and push me through
to meet my doom
at the hands of
underpaid, overworked
as much a victim,
a prisoner of,
the warehouses
you call schools.
Trigger-happy policeman
afraid of stereotypes
create cardboard cutout
black silouhettes
on white backgrounds,
target practice
on the pistol range,
orange jumpsuits
by the millions,,
no funding for education,
