When new love
feels old,
not in a stale way,
but in its depth,
in its soul,
a connection
extant beyond the
physical plane,
not empathy, but
as if the two spirits
are the same.
Where wordless
communication becomes
the norm,
completing sentences,
“I was just thinking that,”
where a true sense
of belonging are born,
therein lies the
the feeling of
being understood,
and finally … known.
Therein lies the love
that no matter where
you are,
if you’re together,
you’re home.
