You are my brother,
we are the same.
I know your spirit,
if not your name.
You are my sister,
though worlds apart.
I know your soul’s voice,
I know your heart.
We hold in common
our basic needs,
safety, food, freedom,
and love, agreed?
Perhaps fear and prejudice,
illnesses of troubled souls,
would be better healed,
with communication and
from filling in
rather than making
wider, deeper, hateful
