I see you sitting in your desk chair.
No matter when I look you’re there.
Even when I try my best not to care,
I cannot feign such devil-may-care.

Although it seems to me unfair,
I know it’s neither here nor there.
I see your face, it’s everywhere
framed beautifully by silken hair.

I can’t forget the time we shared,
the trust we built, our souls laid bare.
I’d come to you, but I don’t dare.
I am left knowing, you’re everywhere,

and nowhere I can be.
