Who is this person?
So compelling yet
off-putting,
so full of
contradictions.
Smiling one moment,
wary the next.
Becoming vulnerable,
difficult to trust,
trepidatious praxis,
a Herculean effort
with miniscule gain.
The value of time
invested in knowing,
in being known
does not balance
the scales.
Observing, learning,
each choice a lesson,
each its own moral
in my story.
I pull away,
fearing imminent
revelations,
answers to questions
unasked.
There is but
one need
to feel complete
within myself.
Loving unconditionally,
and without reservation,
embracing me.
