I regret I did not run to you,
as soon as I could walk.
I should have said, I love you,
the moment I could talk.

I would have held you in my arms
and never let you go,
worshipped you as my Goddess,
erasing doubt from the tableau.

To love this way, a blessing.
Our time cherished every day.
As hours slip through our fingers,
true love won’t fade away.

I love you unabashedly,
perhaps too openly I cried.
Upon my stone the epitaph will read:
I lived, I loved, I tried.
